The CHHS Golf team is very fortunate to be part of the Grapevine Sister City Exchange with Midlothian in Scotland.  This exchange, called a twinning by our friends in Midlothian, involves the Grapevine city leaders and the Midlothian council area leaders.  Youth exchanges exist in music, cooking and our golf program.

The annual golf exchange includes social activities and of course golf matches in the form of the Ryder cup.  The Midlothian team is selected from the Bathgate Golf Academy, under the direction of the Bathgate Head Professional, Stuart Callan.  This program has approximately 150 players to train and select from.  CHHS presents its best golfers for the competition.

Former Europe Ryder Cup player and captain, Bernard Gallacher, bestowed these matches with a beautiful trophy, the Gallacher Cup.  In 2013, Stephen Gallacher, Bernard’s nephew and current PGA Tour golfer, presented the winning team the cup.  Both Bernard, and Stephen and Eric Brown are all members of the Bathgate Golf club (no other Europe club boasts of two Ryder Cup captains and three Ryder Cup players).

Pictures include the players (naturally), but also pictures of visits to the Linlithgow palace, a visit to the Kelpies, the Falkirk wheel, the Firth of Forth Road Bridge, dining at the best fish and chips restaurant in Scotland, visiting Edinburgh, and St. Andrews and the dinner and presentation of the Gallacher cup (to the Scots again since our last win in 2012).

Win the cup back in 2016!!!
