Head Boys/Girls Golf Coach
Ryan Parker, HEAD COACH
Ryan Parker first started playing golf when he was 8 years old, playing with his father and brother. Ryan grew up in a small town in west Texas where he became an accomplished player. After attending the University of Texas, Ryan wanted to go back and do the thing that always brought joy to him which was golf. He worked under the direction of PGA professional, Tony Martinez at Hidden Oaks golf club in Granbury. After working with Tony for three years he moved to Abilene to work with 1971 Masters champion Charles Coody. These two mentors had a significant impact on his teaching methods and approach to the game of golf and how it was taught to kids. With this knowledge Ryan went back to Angelo State University where he graduated with BS in Mathematics and minor in secondary education.
His coaching career began at Central High School in San Angelo, TX in 2013 where he was the head boys and girls golf coach. During his time at CHS he was able to capture twelve team titles, a district title, and an individual state medalist. He then moved to Mansfield in 2017 to work at Summit high school while working on his Masters in Educational Administration that was completed in 2020.
He loves the individual bonds and connections with the student athletes to make them the best player they can be in the sport and in life by building teams focused on composure, confidence, commitment and character.
